This stage determines whether your patio lasts 5 years or 50.
We remove existing surfaces, excavate to correct depths, and create proper drainage gradients directing water away from your property. Manchester's heavy clay soil makes drainage critical, we install solutions to prevent waterlogging common in our area.
The MOT sub-base goes down in layers with proper compaction. For natural stone and porcelain, we apply slurry primer bonding to prevent frost damage.

How long does a patio installation take?

What's the best patio material?

Can I use the patio immediately after installation?
No. Mortar-laid materials need 48-72 hours before light foot traffic, ideally a week before furniture. Block paving can typically be walked on same day but needs 24 hours before heavy use.
Will weeds grow between paving?
Some weed growth is possible with traditional pointing, though proper installation minimizes this. Resin jointing systems virtually eliminate weeds. Regular sweeping keeps growth under control.
Does patio paving get slippery when wet?
